Ferrari SF90 Stradale

The Ferrari SF90 Stradale represents Maranello's landmark leap into extreme hybrid electrification, named to honor the 90th anniversary of Scuderia Ferrari. Generating a staggering 1,000 metric horsepower (986 hp) from a twin-turbocharged 4.0L V8 paired with three electric motors and an advanced e-4WD system, the SF90 is Ferrari's first series-production plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) and stands as one of the quickest accelerating production hypercars on the planet.

Development History

Unveiled in May 2019, the SF90 Stradale was engineered to bridge Formula 1 hybrid technology with road car performance. Built on an all-new multi-material chassis incorporating carbon fiber and high-strength aluminum alloys, the powertrain combines the award-winning F154 twin-turbo V8 with two independent electric motors on the front axle (RAC-e) and a Formula 1-derived MGU-K unit at the rear. Notable engineering innovations include the complete removal of mechanical reverse gears—reversing is powered purely by the electric motors—and the introduction of active aero through a patented 'shut-off Gurney' flap generating 390 kg of downforce at 250 km/h.
